There is a health insurance system in Ghana, but many cannot afford it, least of all the farming families in Akim Ayirebi. The CHA Elim Medical Centre would like to help everyone, but faces the same challenge as all other clinics.

Looking back in 2023: The Medical Center has opened!

We have been waiting for this news for a long time: Pastor Alfred's hospital in Ayirebi, our project location in Ghana, has opened! The project began in 2014, and a few years ago we already reported that it was able to start with examinations and, with the fleet of ambulances from the Hamburg fire department, could at least provide a shuttle service for more distant hospitals.

Last year, too, every euro we received went to our two projects: supporting the work of Holger and Kay Lorentz in South Africa and the tireless work of Pastor Alfred Osei-Poku in Ghana.

Looking back in 2021: Corona and lockdown measures

Africa was hit hard by the coronavirus and lockdown measures, and political unrest further exacerbated the crisis. The past year has been an especially difficult challenge for Holger and Kay Lorentz. The missionary couple looks after orphans and also does a wide range of missionary work, including running soup kitchens and sending aid supplies to other children's homes in need.
